How to delete your account

You can delete your account directly from within the app or website at any time.

  1. Sign in to your Forcapedia account
  2. Go to Profile (tap your avatar or go to forcapedia.com/profile)
  3. Scroll to the Danger Zone section at the bottom
  4. Click Delete account
  5. Type DELETE to confirm, then confirm once more in the dialog

Your account and associated personal data will be permanently deleted immediately.

What is deleted

The following data is permanently and irreversibly removed when you delete your account:

  • Your login credentials and authentication record
  • Reading history and article preferences
  • AI explain history and follow-up questions
  • Active device sessions
  • Token usage and generation history

What is retained

Certain records are anonymized rather than deleted. Your personal identity is removed, but the record itself is kept for legal, financial, and platform integrity reasons:

  • Billing and subscription records - retained in anonymized form for accounting, tax compliance, and dispute resolution as required by applicable law (typically 7 years). Your name and email are removed; only the transaction amounts and dates remain.
  • Article votes - your vote is anonymized (user identity removed) so that article quality scores remain accurate for all users.

Articles generated using your account are not deleted - they are published content that may have been read and linked by others. Your authorship is not publicly displayed.

Cannot log in to delete?

If you have lost access to your account and cannot complete the self-serve deletion, contact us at hello@forcapedia.com with the subject line Account Deletion Request. Include the email address associated with your account. We will verify your identity and process the deletion manually.

Cancelling a subscription before deleting

Deleting your account does not issue a refund for any remaining subscription period. If you have an active paid plan, we recommend cancelling it first from your Account settings and waiting until the period ends before deleting. See our Refund Policy for details.
