World War II

World War II (1939–1945) was the deadliest conflict in history, involving most of the world's nations in two opposing alliances: the Allies and the Axis. It began with Germany's invasion of Poland and ended with the atomic bombings of Japan, leading to the Cold War and the creation of the United Nations.
