Sonam Wangchuk is an Indian engineer, activist, innovator, education reformer, and environmentalist who has made significant contributions to Ladakh's education sector and climate-related challenges. He is the founding-director of the Students' Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL) and has invented the Ice Stupa technique, a method for storing winter water in the form of a cone-shaped ice heap. Wangchuk's innovative solutions to local problems have earned him numerous accolades, including the Ramon Magsaysay Award.
