Sonam Wangchuk: Engineer, Educator, and Climate Activist of Ladakh

Sonam Wangchuk is an Indian engineer, educator, and climate activist renowned for his innovative work in education reform, sustainable architecture, and water conservation in the Himalayan region of Ladakh. He founded the Students' Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL) and developed the "Ice Stupa" technique to create artificial glaciers, addressing water scarcity in high-altitude deserts. Wangchuk is also a prominent voice advocating for environmental protection and constitutional safeguards for Ladakh.
