Sir Thomas More

Sir Thomas More was an English lawyer, social philosopher, humanist, and statesman who served as Lord Chancellor of England under King Henry VIII. He is best known for his book "Utopia" and for his principled refusal to accept the Act of Supremacy, which led to his execution for treason and subsequent canonization as a saint by the Catholic Church.
