Saddam Hussein

Saddam Hussein was a controversial Iraqi politician who served as Iraq's president from 1979 to 2003. A leading figure in the Ba'ath Party, he implemented significant social and economic reforms but also led Iraq through devastating wars and was responsible for widespread human rights abuses. His rule ended with the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq, and he was later executed for crimes against humanity.
