Roger Bacon

Roger Bacon was a remarkable English scholar and Franciscan friar from the 13th century, often called "Doctor Mirabilis." He championed the study of nature through observation and experimentation, advocating for what we now recognize as elements of the scientific method, and sought to integrate scientific knowledge with theology. His major work, the *Opus Majus*, was a groundbreaking synthesis of his ideas.
