Operation Plunder

Operation Plunder was a massive Allied military operation in March 1945 during <a href="/article/world-war-ii">World War II</a>, aimed at crossing the <a href="/article/rhine-river">Rhine River</a> into Germany. Led by Field Marshal <a href="/article/bernard-montgomery">Bernard Montgomery</a>, it involved a huge coordinated effort of ground troops, artillery, and an airborne assault to establish a crucial bridgehead for the final push into Nazi Germany.
