In December 2025, 18-year-old university student Henry Nowak was stabbed to death in Southampton by Vickrum Singh Digwa. Police bodycam footage showing officers handcuffing Nowak as he lay dying sparked public outrage and debate about policing and knife laws. Digwa was convicted of murder in May 2026 and sentenced to life imprisonment.
