Kentucky Derby

The Kentucky Derby is America's most famous horse race, held every year on the first Saturday in May at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. Known as 'The Run for the Roses,' it features three-year-old Thoroughbreds racing 1.25 miles in about two minutes. It is the first leg of the Triple Crown and has been run continuously since 1875, making it one of the oldest sporting events in the United States.
