Juvenal: The Roman Satirist

Decimus Junius Juvenalis, known as Juvenal, was a Roman poet who lived from approximately AD 55 to 128. He is famous for his collection of 16 satirical poems, simply titled *Satires*, which offer a biting critique of Roman society, its vices, and its follies. Though details of his life are scarce and often debated, his work remains a vital, albeit biased, source for understanding the social landscape of the Roman Empire.
