José Sanjurjo

José Sanjurjo was a prominent Spanish general and monarchist who played a key role in the military plots leading to the Spanish Civil War. Intended to be the leader of the Nationalist faction, he died in a plane crash just days after the 1936 coup attempt, which profoundly altered the course of the war.
