Joan of Arc

Joan of Arc was a young French peasant girl who, believing she was guided by divine voices, led the French army to several important victories during the Hundred Years' War. Her actions helped secure the coronation of <a href="/article/charles-vii-of-france">Charles VII</a> and significantly boosted French morale, ultimately changing the course of the war. Despite her military successes, she was captured, tried for heresy, and burned at the stake, only to be exonerated and later canonized as a patron saint of France.
