Hideki Tojo

Hideki Tojo was a Japanese military officer and politician who served as Prime Minister of Japan for most of World War II. A staunch advocate of militarism and expansionism, he oversaw Japan's entry into the war with the attack on Pearl Harbor and directed the nation's war effort, becoming a symbol of its wartime aggression and atrocities. He was later tried, convicted, and executed as a war criminal.
