Hans Speidel

Hans Speidel was a prominent German general who served in three different German armies across two World Wars and the Cold War. He is remembered for his involvement in the 20 July Plot to assassinate Hitler, his survival of Nazi persecution, and his crucial role in the rearmament of West Germany and its integration into NATO after World War II. Speidel became the first full General in the Bundeswehr and a key figure in European defense.
