Godesberg Memorandum

The Godesberg Memorandum was an ultimatum issued by <a href="/article/adolf-hitler">Adolf Hitler</a> in September 1938, demanding the immediate transfer and German occupation of the <a href="/article/sudetenland">Sudetenland</a> from <a href="/article/czechoslovakia">Czechoslovakia</a>. It significantly escalated the <a href="/article/sudetenland-crisis">Sudetenland Crisis</a> and pushed Europe to the brink of war, directly leading to the <a href="/article/munich-agreement">Munich Agreement</a>.
