Dark Matter is a 2016 science fiction thriller novel by American author Blake Crouch that explores parallel universes through the story of physicist Jason Dessen, who is kidnapped and sent to an alternate reality where he made different life choices. The book uses the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics to examine themes of identity, regret, and the nature of reality. It became a commercial success and was adapted into an Apple TV+ series in 2024.
