Chūichi Nagumo was an admiral in the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II, best known for leading the carrier strike force that attacked Pearl Harbor. Despite early successes, his command suffered a devastating defeat at the Battle of Midway, a pivotal moment in the Pacific War. He later died by suicide during the Battle of Saipan.
