Axis Powers of World War II

The Axis Powers were a military coalition of nations that fought against the Allies in <a href="/article/world-war-ii">World War II</a>. Led primarily by <a href="/article/nazi-germany">Nazi Germany</a>, the <a href="/article/kingdom-of-italy">Kingdom of Italy</a>, and the <a href="/article/empire-of-japan">Empire of Japan</a>, they shared expansionist goals and a general opposition to liberal democracies and communism. Despite their alliance, coordination among Axis members was often limited, contributing to their ultimate defeat in 1945.
