On 15 April 2026, a 14-year-old student opened fire at Ayser Çalık Secondary School in Kahramanmaraş, Turkey, killing 10 people and injuring 19. It is the deadliest school shooting in Turkish history. The shooter died from a knife wound inflicted by a parent who intervened.
